The Biography Project : Part I

Featured as part of an artist residency post at Iwalewa Haus / University Bayreuth, this interview series asked Black women working in spheres of art, academia, and activism, to speak about their lives and their work. Each participant contributed a question to be posed to other women taking part in this series. Questions included :

“In a world free from misogynoir what would you allow yourself to do?”
“What gives you goosebumps?”
“How do you define joy?”
“What do you think is beautiful about a Black body?”
“How do you think the world we live in will be described in fifty year’s time?”

Interviews were arranged and conducted by Isaiah Lopaz featuring a cast that included: Dr. Natasha A. Kelly, Dr. Edna Bonhomme, Clementine Ewokolo Burnlee, Aude Chirstel Mgba, Bo Olawoye, Chris Lange, Donna Kukama, Dr. Emilia Roig, Goitseone Montsho, Lyse Ishimwe, Maira Zenun, and Monica Kamara. Broadcasted live, each interview spanned fifty minutes, with interviews being presented throughout the digital residency which took place during the Covid-19 lockdown.
